PLN 1- A Vision of Students Today

What is it like being a student today? This was the question asked in the video "A Vision of Students Today".

To me, a 9th grade student at Arapahoe High School, technology is becoming a very big part of our learning experience. Computer classes, blogging sites, online projects and online textbooks are all great examples of how we are turning towards technology and away from book/paper based learning. Although I have used computer programs throughout my education, I have found you use computers a lot more in high school.  Not only do we use computers more ... we use them in more than one class.

Technology is affecting me as a person because everything I need to know is now available on the internet.  Where we used to go to the library to research a topic, we can now search for the information on the computer.  My parents used to tell us, "why don't we go to the library and research it?"  Now they tell us, "why don't you Google it"?  Don't get me wrong, the ability to find information on a topic instantaneously is very useful.  I feel though that people are taking advantage of the opportunities the internet offers.  This also answers the question of how is technology changing the world?  I think our generation spends way to much time on the internet playing online games, Facebook, MySpace and things like that.  In summary, we are becoming too reliable on technology!

Would you agree?

Please title your response as PLN 1. Also, make sure in your topic sentence to reference the title, author and why your what matters from the video, matters. You have some proofreading errors. Please proofread your entry before posting. Additionally, make sure to connect your entry to the world. Finally, conclude your entry with a clear topic sentence.
